Factory Photos
Return to Pearson Info . . .

These are some photos I took at the old Pearson factory in Portsmouth, RI in August, 2001.

Molds sitting out in a field...

Two 424 and a 303 mold, the deck mold to the left looks like a 424.

The Portsmouth Factory Site in 2009
I visited the Portsmouth factory site again in 2009. I had found some air photos
of the site on-line at Google Earth and maps.live.com. The photo below shows the
factory site (41.619386,-71.268778 if you want to look for yourself). Right at
the center is the field where the molds were stored. The molds I photographed in
2001 are at the south edge of the paved area north of the field.

The next photos are oblique air photos from maps.live.com. The molds I took photos
of in 2001 are right at the top of the first photo. Had I walked back past another
row of trees and brush I would have found a lot more molds. These air photos are
from maps.live.com.

In the spring of 2009 I went back to the site to get more photos of the molds in the
back of the lot. They were all gone. The site had been cleared for a new housing
development. I suspect all the molds were scrapped. A few of the later molds
(boats from the late 80's) were moved to the Bristol Yachts site. I don't know what
became of these.

The first photo here was taken from a spot near the lower left corner of the photo
above. The telephone pole with the transformer on it can be seen in both photos.
This is where most of the molds were. I did find some scraps of a deck mold with
the Pearson non-skid pattern on them.
