This is a view of the Grand River looking north towards Lake Erie. The marina on the right is the Sailing Center of Grand River Marine. It's about 1 mile from the Sailing Center to the lake. The wider part of the river in the middle of the photo is the turning basin wher the large lake freighters (600'-1000') turn around to head back out to the lake. About halfway to the lake on the left bank is a Morton Salt mine with ship loading facilities. The town of Fairport is on the right bank all the way at the lake.
