This image shows the new bearing surface I made with west system epoxy to repair the worn rudder shaft. It was taken after 1 full season of use. The epoxy repair shows no sign of wear as compared to when it was made at the start of the season. There is corrosion on the shaft above the repair where I had sanded the anodizing off. I should have painted this part of the shaft before installing the rudder. (See Maintenance Log for 5/2/96, 5/4/96 and 11/7/96)
